The Perseids are the most predominant of the yearly meteor showers. It usually starts around July 21st, peaks around August 12th and ends around September 1st. Depending on the Moon phase and light pollution….there could be 50 or more meteors per hour. However, it does sound like we will be dealing with a Waning Gibbous Moon this year.
